Introduction to Archery Courses

From time to time we run an “Introduction to Archery” beginners course at the Christchurch Archery Club, Rawhiti Domain.  The course is typically run over six, two hour lessons held on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.

The hours are typically from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Wednesday evenings and 10.30am–12.30pm on Saturday mornings, but these may occationally be changed to suite coaches and/or archers. Typically, these coarses run during the summer season roughly between September and April.

The cost of the “Introduction to Archery” course is generally $150.00 for six lessons, this includes equipment hire and target fees for the duration of the course.

There will be a small amount of classroom information given and written material will be provided for everyone to read at their leisure.  The majority of the course is practical and shooting will be outside whenever possible.  Certificates of completion and Range Qualifications will be awarded at the end of the sixth lesson.

Course content includes: Range safety, The 12 steps of shooting, types of equipment, basic tuning and bow mechanics, information about Archery New Zealand, the junior programme, joining the club and lots of shooting!

We will generally require a minimum of 6 participants to enable us to run the course.
